: “Happy Affection Day!” (South Bay Polys #266 - Feb. 2018)

Quite a month, February—particularly this year.  For the more Catholic-leaning Christians, this week brings us Mardi Gras—and Ash Wednesday.  A time to indulge and to reflect.  And Ash Wednesday this year just happens to also be Valentine’s Day. (In a few months, some of us will celebrate Easter—which this year falls on April Fool’s Day).  So that February and March this year evokes a mixture of abandon and temperance.

This week right here, that brings us Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday, also leads into the Presidents’ Day Weekend—another opportunity to indulge and/or reflect.  Some people (ie. me) have both Friday and Monday off—so we can especially partake of these opportunities.

Many local Pagans will be converging on San Jose for Pantheacon, a large annual Pagan…Wiccan…Occult(?)…earth-religion gathering:  Four days of intense workshops, rituals, and experiences.

Many Pagans think of the beginning of February as the time when we notice the days growing longer and warmer again—flowing right into Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras…the whole business.

I hope that this February-time will open up possibilities for you—in love and in life.  What possibilities do we see coming now, in our poly lives?  Good growth and good love, I hope!  I hope opportunities come your way!
